FGM Awareness Training Course

Course Description

This FGM training course will provide your staff with the necessary knowledge about Female Genital Mutilation and how to recognise the signs as part of your safeguarding duty. Designed for those working with children, young people and adults in safeguarding, and various volunteer roles.

On this online FGM training course, learners will be taught how to recognise the signs of FGM, understand what FGM is, how it can affect the victim, and understand the 4 R’s of child protection. It will help and enable your staff to apply the techniques and knowledge they’ve learnt into their workplace. Along with what to do if you suspect a child is being subjected to FGM.

A recent study revealed that 137,000 women in England and Wales are estimated to be living with the consequences of FGM. The consequences can be horrifying and being aware of this will aid you in caring for those who have had this act inflicted upon them. Your awareness could change the lives of women for the better.

Course Outline

The aim of this course is to greater increase your knowledge of female genital mutilation and the signs, as well as the relevant legislation.
